Hi and welcome to Himley Road
If you are new to the church, then we extend a special welcome to you.
Going to a new church can be something of a daunting experience - particularly if you don't know anyone who already goes. We really do want to welcome you and make you feel at home. The people at Himley Road are just ordinary people - from all walks of life. Male and female - young and old - employed and retired - families and singles - some new to church and some have been coming all their lives.
A good place to begin would be a morning service especially if you have children as there are creche facilities and other activities for young people. We have adapted our services to help people feel more comfortable. Gone are the days when you had to wear your Sunday best to come to church! We believe that God welcomes us just as we are. The style of church is changing too. The whole feel is more informal than it used to be. Why not give it a try, what have you got to lose?
The building has ramped access and disabled toilets. There are moveable chairs so wheelchair users or those with pushchairs can sit amongst friends. The church is equipped with a 'T loop' system for hearing aid wearers. Song words are projected onto a large screen so most people can read them with ease, although there are large print versions of song books on request if that helps.
If it would help to meet someone before coming along then just let us know. We would be happy to arrange for someone to come and meet with you so that you know at least one person when you come and walk in with them or sit by them if that helps. The morning service usually ends around 12 noon and there is a chance to socialise over a tea or coffee afterwards if you have the time.
